All you need to access BRMail is an Internet connection and a standard web browser. You do not need to download or install any additional software.

Where did you hear about BRMail?

Forwarding is only available to BRMail Plus users, enabling you to forward multiple e-mail accounts to your BRMail account, thus centralizing all your mail.

BRMail allows you to set user-defined filters to perform a specific task when a predefined condition is met: for example, if the subject line of a message received contains the word "new", you may have the message moved to a folder entitled "NEW". Filters can also be used to define the conditions for the auto-reply function: for example, if the From field of a message contains the word "mom", you can have an auto reply to say "Sorry. Gone fishing!".

If you are unavailable to respond to your e-mail for any length of time, the vacation message feature is a handy way to have BRMail automatically respond to incoming e-mail messages.

If there is no user input for a long period of time (currently set to 30 minutes), your session will time out and you will need to log in again. This is done for your own benefit, making it more difficult for someone who uses your computer after you to get at your mail. If you are using BRMail from an Internet cafe' we recommend that you click 'Logout' before you leave.

How big is my mailbox?
Your free BRMail mailbox can store 10 Megabytes of mail and your BRMail Plus mailbox can store 75 Megabytes of mail. We count all the files in your mailbox including messages in all folders, attachments and drafts. Attachments are normally the biggest space hogs and if someone decides to send you a movie or sound file, we recommend that you download it and delete it from your mailbox as soon as possible.
What happens when my mailbox is full?
When your mailbox is almost full, you will see a warning message when you log in, telling you to take some action. If this warning is ignored, and your mailbox becomes full, you will stop receiving mail. Anyone sending you e-mail will get their message returned to them, and they will need to re-send that e-mail when you have space in your mailbox.
What can I do when my mailbox is full?
There is only one thing you can do when you have reached your mail quota; delete. You will need to look through your inbox and any other folders, deleting old messages that are no longer necessary. When you delete a message, any attachments will also be removed.
How can I see how much space I am using?
If you go to the folders page, you will find a summary of your disk space usage just next to the 'Create Folder' button. It will say something like 'used 800K of 4MB', meaning that your have used 800 Kilobytes of 4 Megabytes of space.
